Kay practiced both civil litigation and family law at the law firm of Cook Roberts until she joined Trudi and Jane at their new offices on Oak Bay Avenue in March 2001.

Kay now practices exclusively in the area of Family Law with a focus on resolving disputes out of court through mediation or Collaborative Law whenever possible.

Kay has also participated in the review and update of the Family Relations Act, the Rules of Court, and Continuing Legal Education materials concerning family law. She continues to advocate for improvements in options for families in transition.
