Collaborative law is a relatively new process, where the parties and their lawyers agree from the outset that they will not go to court, and they sign a contract to that extent.

The parties work together, in meetings with the lawyers, and often with non-lawyer professionals, such as financial experts, accountants, divorce coaches, or custody specialists, to resolve the issues.

If a solution is not possible, the lawyers must leave the file, and the parties retain new lawyers to assist them in litigation.

All of the lawyers at Brown Henderson have been trained in the Collaborative process, and are members of the Victoria Collaborative Group.
