I am a 2004 graduate of the University of British Columbia
Faculty of Law Program.
I was called to the Bar in 2005 and have also been trained as a Family Law Mediator
and Collaborative Family Lawyer.
Prior to attending law school, I worked as a legal
assistant and gained valuable insight into the workings of a law office and practice.
In 2004, I articled with the Windsor Law Group and stayed on to practice law there until 2009.
In April 2009, I joined the law firm of Brown Henderson Melbye as an Associate Lawyer.
In addition to my practice in Family Law, I have also practiced in the areas of wills and
estates, personal injury, and immigration. I find working in Family Law very rewarding
as it allows me to find solutions and assist my clients through one of the hardest
times in their life.
During law school, I was an active volunteer with the
Law Students’ Legal Advice
Program and PIVOT and I completed a clinical program with the
UBC First Nations Legal
Clinic. I currently serve as Co-Chair of the
Canadian Bar Association Family Law
--
Vancouver Island subsection. I am also a member of the Canadian Bar Association,
Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the
Collaborative Family Law
Practice Group in Victoria.
I have two young children and spend my spare moments with them and my family.
